Hey it's (The Girl Called) Mitch! I recently just moved to the area, originally from south of Detroit, and am loving it! I also LOVE what I do for a living...talk on the radio! I am so blessed to get to do this! I began this crazy career after attending EMU and Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. I got my start in Flint-Town Baby, where I was doing overnights. From there, I moved onto Detroit radio. Bounced around from one station to another for years. And now I've bounced to The Moose! It is AMAZING being here!! Thank you for being so welcoming!!
My family though, is my first LOVE! They are all my heroes, and we stick together through anything. My identical twin sister is my best friend in the world! Well, along with my other siblings (two older brothers and an older sister...(yes, there is a slew of us) which are so fantastic too! My Christianity is also what I am completely passionate about as well!
Want to know a secret...Most nights consist of my bed, my dvd player, and ROCKY 4!! Yes, watch it about every night! They are my favorite movies in the world (it's the way he loves Adrian)! The order for me: 4, 1, 2, 3, 5 and Rocky Balboa! I'm also an 80's movie junkie as well! Breakfast Club, Valley Girl, Say Anything, Pretty in Pink, etc. John Hughes is a genius!!!
I look forward to hearing from you! And thanks again for listening!!!
Keep It Country,
MITCH
CARRIES TOUR!
CARRIE UNDERWOOD HIRES LOCALS!
Carrie Underwood's gearing up for her new Play On Tour, and despite the fact that most of it's a big secret, some of Carrie's secrets are starting to come to light.
Like the fact that she has basically an army to haul her tour around.
Al.com is reporting that Carrie recently spent a few days in Mobile, Alabama at the Civic Center to give herself and her crew time to get used to her new stage and everything that goes along with that. Carrie's crew of about 40 people, arrived in Mobile on February 21. Then another 80 or so local folks were hired to help out as stage hands, riggers, etc. Carrie then arrived last week on Wednesday, did her under-wraps rehearsing, and then the whole crew headed out on Saturday, taking approximately 12 semi trucks to haul everything off.
Civic Center manager Jay Hagerman estimates that over two weeks of hiring local crew members, caterers, renting hotel rooms, as well as renting out the Civic Center itself, the whole operation cost half a million dollars, if not more.
"It's more of an impact to the facility than a one-night, sold-out concert," he said.
As for how the hush-hush practice sessions sounded, Hagerman says, "The technology is beyond anything I've ever seen," he said. "The clarity of the sound system is unbelievable."
He added, "This building has never sounded better."

The voters have spoken! Four of this season's top 20 hopefuls were sent packing on Thursday night's "American Idol." Did one of your favorites get eliminated?
First to get the boot was John Park, whose pop-star dreams came crashing down in the aftermath of his critically maligned take on John Mayer's "Gravity." "I've really enjoyed my time here," he said, adding that his highlight on the show was meeting Shania Twain, as well as his fellow contestants.
Second to say adios was Jermaine Sellers, who did little to endear himself to the judges with his rendition of Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On." "I'm a church singer -- that's where my heart is," Jermaine said. "In God there's no failure. … so I leave here happy."
Next, the door was thrown wide open for Michelle Delamor's departure, following her pitchy performance of Creed's "With Arms Wide Open." "I think I was so wrapped up in trying to do everything right while being judged that I lost sight of just performing," Michelle explained.
Last to be booted from the competition was Haeley Vaughn, whose version of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" Simon Cowell had called "a complete and utter mess." "I'll do my best from here on out," Haeley said after learning her fate.
Also on the results show, "Idol" alum Danny Gokey sang his new song, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me."

BRAD PAISLEY PRANKS!
Brad Paisley Almost Kicks Justin Moore's Ass!
Brad Paisley just about kicked Justin Moore's ass. Well, that's how I took it, anyway. According to Paisley's blog this week about his Las Vegas show, he talks about the usual opener vs. headliner pranks. But this had to have been the highlight: "The first one was on Justin Moore. If you've seen his show, you know he's a fairly small guy. So, our biggest guys went out during his song, 'I Could Kick Your Ass,' and stood next to him, looking down on him. The guys we sent out were 6' plus, and Justin is about 5' 7" or so. It was very funny," Paisley blogged. But this one sounds pretty funny, too: "The second prank was on Miranda during her song, 'White Liar.' During part of the song, our video guys ran a slide show with photos of Miranda's boyfriend, Blake Shelton, with other girls. They were all from his meet and greets, but it was very fitting with the song," he said. Paisley is a brave man to mess with a tough girl like Lambert and a bad ass (albeit a short one) like Moore.

"This is a real tragedy," country music star Trace Adkins says on his web site after a fatal crash Saturday involving his band's bus in Caddo Parrish, La.
"Two people have been killed and I don't even know their names," he continues. "So out of respect for their families, I prefer not to comment too much at this time."
Former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Adkins, who was not on the bus, was already at his tour's next stop when he heard the news. A vehicle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into the tour bus carrying the band, according to his web site, Both men in the truck were killed instantly. None of Adkins' band received serious injuries, but five were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries and observation.

This weekend Carrie Underwood is jetting to Oahu to begin work on her first feature film, set to be released late this summer.
Based on the inspirational life story of teen surfing sensation Bethany Hamilton, whose left arm was bitten off by a tiger shark in October 2003, the movie features Underwood as Sarah Hill, a youth counselor at Hamilton's church.
"Sarah has been my best friend since I was very young," Hamilton, 19, tells PEOPLE. "After my shark attack, she always knew what to say to push me on."
Filming for the movie – whose cast includes Anna Sophia Robb as Hamilton, and Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt as her parents – began earlier this week on Oahu's North Shore. While she takes a break from her studies at Brown University, Jack Nicholson’s daughter, Lorraine, will portray Hamilton's best friend, Alana Blanchard, while Kevin Sorbo plays her father, Holt.
Though Underwood, 26, has reportedly turned down various movie roles in the past, she fell in love with Hamilton's story after reading the Soul Surfer script. She'll now spend most of next week filming on Oahu, before hitting the road and returning to Nashville to prepare for her upcoming concert tour.
"I can't wait to see her on the set," says Hamilton, who has gone on to become a top-performing pro surfer despite her injuries
CARRIE UNDERWOOD IN LIFESTYLE MAG!
CARRIE UNDERWOOD & MIKE FISHER'S WEDDING DETAILS!
It's a big year for pop singer Carrie Underwood - fresh from impressing style experts with her look at the Grammy Awards, the one-time 'American Idol' will sing the national anthem at the 2010 Super Bowl. After that? A "big hair and eyeliner" wedding with pro hockey player Mike Fisher, Underwood says.
Life & Style magazine spoke to Fisher about the big day, and shared the wedding updates exclusively with PopEater. Get details on the power couple's nuptials after the jump.
"It's going to be a good size wedding with plenty of good food and an open bar," Fisher told Life & Style. "But nothing too overblown. It's still in the planning stages, so a lot of the details haven't been finalized."
Underwood will be handling the finer points of the reception, Fisher admitted. "As you might expect, Carrie's involved in a lot of the details," he said, joking, "I'll just be showing up."
"I'm Southern," Underwood explained on the red carpet of the People's Choice Awards on Jan. 6. "I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding to be me, so I'll probably be rocking some big hair and eyeliner... I want [the dress] to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it - not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I've worked with before."
"We can't even think about her wedding yet," Carrie's stylist, Trish Townsend, told Life & Style. "We just got through the Grammys. Next is the Super Bowl - she's singing the national anthem ... I'll be helping with the wedding. But ultimately, I'll probably hand things off to the designer she chooses."
That designer could be Roberto de Villacis, who designed one of Carrie's dresses for the 2009 Country Music Awards. "I love designing for Carrie," De Villacis told Life & Style. "Since meeting her, I've been thinking about her wedding dress. Carrie's sweet, feminine, romantic. I'd propose a glamorous Southern-belle gown in French Chantilly lace with a floral pattern. She's petite, so the best silhouette would be a long and lean flute."
MIRANDA LAMBERT AT GRAMMY'S! Does she look a lil heavier?
MIRANDA LAMBERT AT THE 2010 GRAMMY'S...DOES SHE LOOK HEAVIER? YOU DECIDE!
LAWSUIT...AND BRAD PAISLEY!
WOMAN SUING FOR BEING HURT AT A BRAD PAISLEY CONCERT!
A woman is suing the concert promoter Live Nation, contending she was injured when a drunken brawl broke out at a Brad Paisley appearance in Tinley Park last summer.
Mollie Ralph says she was knocked to the ground during the concert Aug. 7 at the First Midwest Bank Ampitheater. She adds that she suffered "pain and disability and disfigurement."
She said liquor was sold at the concert and the people who started the fight were drunk.
The complaint, filed Wednesday in Cook County, blames Live Nation for failing to "provide an adequate number of security personnel at the concert."
TAYLOR SWIFT'S NEW HOUSE IS MADE INTO HER FANTASY!!
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Taylor Swift said she is making her fantasy a reality with her newest home she just purchased in Nashville, Tennessee.
Taylor said: “It’s going to be my fantasy world. There’s a pond in the living room… The pond is a moat around the fireplace and may possibly have koi fish in it. You step on a stepping stone in the pond in order to get on a spiral staircase, which takes you up to the human-sized bird cage observatory. They’re delivering a human-size birdcage, which I’ll put a brass telescope in. The ceiling of my living room is painted like the night sky.”
Wow! That sounds like something we would love to see!
CARRIE UNDERWOOD'S COSTUME FOR "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER" LEAKED!
CARRIE UNDERWOOD'S UPCOMING ROLE ON "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER!"
By now we've all heard, repeatedly, that Carrie Underwood will be in an upcoming episode of the CBS show, How I Met Your Mother. But now there's a Twitter picture of what her character will look like. And it is ... Stewardess Barbie! I had heard before that she was supposed to play a pharmaceutical rep named Tiffany, but there is no arguing with this photo that the show's star Neil Patrick Harris just tweeted. Underwood has the unmistakable up-do, shift mini-dress, neckerchief and white patent go-go boots of a vintage flight attendant. One from a time when you could still get a good stiff martini on a flight (see what Harris is holding). I can't wait until March, when the real story unfolds and all of Underwood's characters are revealed.
TIM MCGRAW IN A NEW MOVIE...AND WITH A NEW BEARD!
Looks like the Hollywood facial hair trend has hit Nashville too! Tim McGraw has already proven that he’s just fine with changing up his famous good looks for a movie role — the country star shaved his goatee to play Sandra Bullock’s husband in The Blind Side and packed on the pounds for his part in Four Christmases — but count his latest transformation as a fashion don’t in the eyes of his daughters. “My daughters don’t like it at all, especially the oldest [12-year-old Gracie],” McGraw told Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton of the full beard he’s grown for his role co-starring with Gwyneth Paltrow in Love Don’t Let Me Down. Gracie’s assessment? “You look old!’” Tim explained, “And I said, ‘Thanks a lot. Are you embarrassed for me to be around your friends with a beard?’ And she says, ‘There’s a lot of gray in there, Dad!’” Joked McGraw, “I told her I was gonna grow it out and do a big beard combover and try to get it over the top of my head.” In the movie, which began filming in Nashville this week, McGraw plays husband and manager to Paltrow’s country singer, and he says Paltrow impressed him with her pipes. “She’s a really good singer,” he says. “You’re going to be surprised at how well she sings.” –Eileen Finan
