A 54-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Roscommon County on Sunday.

According to Michigan State Police, the man was found lying in the roadway on Mead Road near the US-127 overpass in Lake Township around 5:43 p.m. Investigators say the Harrison man had been walking westbound along the shoulder when he was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.

While troopers were investigating, a 66-year-old Houghton Lake man arrived at the scene in a pickup. Police say evidence pointed to the man being the suspected driver in the crash, and he consented to a blood-draw at a local hospital. Authorities say the man is cooperating with law enforcement, and the crash remains under investigation.
