Bay City Gets Michigan’s First Marijuana Retailer
Michigan is seeing a new way to buy medical marijuana. A new merchandiser, ‘Skymint’, debuted in the Great Lakes Bay Region Wednesday, July 10.
Dimondale-based Green Peak Innovations CEO Jeff Radway explains the decision to locate the first of 30 planned stores in a former Wilder Road restaurant is the result of Bay City’s welcoming stance to the industry. The facility at 4330 Wilder will offer the highest quality medical marijuana products and merchandise.
Radway has plans to expand into the recreational marijuana business as state and local rules are finalized by the middle of next year.
The company has a cultivation and processing plant west of Lansing plus a research and development facility in Lansing. The company has invested $50 million so far and plans to invest another $50 million over the next six months.
