Bay City Girl Receives Mayoral Proclamation For Life Saving Effort

Bay City Mayor Kathleen Newsham presented a proclamation during the City Commission meeting Monday to 11 year old Leeah Juliann Dahn.
Dahn alertly got her family to safety after hearing the smoke alarm and smelling smoke in their home in the 2700 block of Garfield around Four AM on July 15th. Fire Department Battalion Chief Paul McBride says many adults would not have acted nearly as calmly as Dahn did so her family should be very proud of her.
Dahn who received gift certificates for free ice cream and slurpees will enter 6th grade this fall at Handy Middle School.
