The Bay County Forest Sustainability Program will conduct treatment in a number of areas in Bay County of Emerald Ash Borer over the next couple weeks.

From June 10 through 24, ash trees will be injected with an insecticide called Tree-age that contains the active ingredient Emamectin Benzoate which will kill 99 percent of EAB that feed on it. Since the product is injected directly into the tree through a one-way port, there is no danger of the product leaking out of the tree and affecting non-target organisms. The 2024 Emerald Ash Borer Treatment Project will treat about 884 Ash trees and will protect the trees from the insect for three years.
