Fatal December Crash Leads to Murder Arrest

A 31-year-old man was arrested July 1 on murder charges for a crash which occurred in Isabella County this past winter.

Brian Wemigwans is accused of driving under the influence of several drugs, causing a multiple vehicle crash December 19. The crash occurred at the intersection of Crossway Ln. and Broadway within the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation. State police troopers found 30-year-old Jordan Wilson of Twin Lake, a passenger of Wemigwans, critically injured at the scene, who later died from his injuries. Other drivers also suffered major injuries.

Wemigwans is charged with second-degree murder, operating under the influence with a high BAC causing incapacitating injury and operating under the influence with a high BAC causing incapacitating injury with a prior conviction. He’s been indicted in federal court.
