Flint Man Who Pleaded Guilty to Killing a Beaverton Man Sentenced to Prison

A Flint man will spend nearly 19 years in prison for killing a Gladwin County man in 2023.

On Monday, a Gladwin County judge sentenced Michael Durbinb II to a minimum 225 months after he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. On June 6, police responded to the Lakefront Estates in Beaverton on a report of someone shot. They found the body of 56-year-old Scott Eckert. P

olice say the investigation was difficult as there was no apparent connection between the suspect and the victim, but they did develop Durbin as a suspect early on.
