High school football fans can look forward to some top players in the future. Organizer Tom Baird says the week end Dennis Wirgowski Football Camp was a success.

Baird said the campers will be going home very tired. The 4th through 8th graders went through offensive, defensive and special teams drills during the camp. They also practiced kicking off and punting. Baird said the campers will be going home very tired.

The main goal of the camp was play safe, play smart. The campers learned about concussions and how to recognize symptoms of the head injury.

Baird thanked Mother Nature for holding off on Sunday’s predicted thunderstorms. He said planning for next year’s fifth annual camp starts today.
