A crash with a horse and buggy in Clare County last Friday left a man with serious injuries.

Police say 66-year-old Richard Rodabaugh of Farwell was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 south on Clare Avenue in Grant Township around 7:25 P.M. when an unoccupied Amish buggy pulled by a horse crossed his path. Police say the buggy was initially stopped at an address on Eberhart Avenue where the 50-year-old Amish man, identified as Andrew Hochstetler of Clare, was visiting, though the horse ran away. The Farwell man was taken to a hospital in Grand Rapids by helicopter where he is currently listed in stable condition. The horse died in the crash.

Hochstetler was given a citation for animals running at large.
