A 20-year-old inmate at the Saginaw Correctional Facility in Tittabawassee Township has been moved to a maximum security facility after his cell mate was discovered murdered on Monday, April 8.

Corrections officials say the victim, a 44-year-old man, was serving time for crimes out of Wayne and Macomb counties. The suspect was in for armed robbery in Kent County. The two men were cell mates for about a month. Michigan State Police detectives are investigating the incident, while prison officials conduct an internal investigation. Their names have not been released at this time.
