About 300 employees of a printing plant in Midland will be out of a job come September. The Midland Daily News reports that the Quad/Graphics plant has told employees it will close by September 10th. Full time employees are being offered a severance package and help with finding new jobs.

Quad, based in Wisconsin, has 39 printing plants in the US, and employs about 300 people at its Midland plant on James Savage Road. In a statement to the newspaper, company officials mentioned the impact of digital competition on the printing industry, and  the need to align declining volume with capacity.
