A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle near Mt. Pleasant Friday, August 9.

Police say the pedestrian was hit at the intersection of Pickard and Isabella in Union Township around 10:15 p.m. The pedestrian was flown to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for life threatening injuries. Their condition isn’t known at this time. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident.

A crash Saturday, August 10 claimed the life of a 25-year-old man. Police say the man was driving on E. Denver Rd. in Wise Township around 3:40 a.m. when he attempted to pass his girlfriend, who was driving a second vehicle. The man lost control of his vehicle, which rolled and partially ejected him through the windshield. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The victim’s name has yet to be released. The crash remains under investigation.
