The Michigan Department of State has fined a Saginaw auto repair business for violating the terms of an 18-month probationary agreement that began in September 2018. Jack’s Auto Repair, owned by Yacoub Allyateem Khury, does business as “Muffler Man 43 at 2030 N. Niagara. The business was cited May
3rd for the probation violations, which include failing to meet mechanic certification requirements, issuing improper invoices, performing unauthorized repairs and failing to provide written estimates to customers.

An  inspection on May 3 came as a followup to a customer complaint about unauthorized charges. Jack’s was originally placed on probation in 2018 for allowing a mechanic with an expired license to continue working. After the May inspection, the owner agreed to close the shop for five days and pay a $1,000 fine to have his probation extended six months. The probation now extends to September 2020.
