The Saginaw County budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year has been
adopted by the County Board of Commissioners and will take effect on October First.

Critics like Commissioner Kathy Dwan say the budget increased about 6.6 % overall, adding the Commission ignored several proposed cuts while utilizing over $2,000,000 in general fund balance reserves.

County Controller Robert Belleman  promised a dialogue with department heads would begin in November on how to reduce expenses. That could mean less use of fund balance reserves this coming year while trimming the budget even further for 2021.
