The City of Saginaw is calling on residents to participate in the design of a new Riverfront Park, part of the larger Medical Diamond Project. Input sessions with SCAPE Landscape Architecture are scheduled for October 23rd. The first session will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SVRC Marketplace, followed by a second session from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. during the “We Love Saginaw Businesses” Trunk or Treat at Celebration Park.

Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas, which will be integrated into the park’s design. An online survey will also be available until November 15th, providing another avenue for input. The planned Riverfront Park aims to enhance public spaces with features such as water access, recreational amenities, and connections to the Iron Belle Trail.

Phil Karwat, Director of Public Works, emphasizes the importance of community engagement in this project. “Public input is essential for creating a park that benefits everyone,” he stated. The park will focus on four key principles: human health, education, ecological vibrancy, and place and culture.
