Saginaw Public Schools Celebrates Renovation of Middle School
Saginaw Public Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of renovations at the newly established Saginaw Middle School. The school occupies the building that previously housed Saginaw High School. Community members were invited to attend the event, which included a program highlighting the school’s features and vision. Following the program, attendees toured the facility, which is currently undergoing its first phase of construction. Dr. Mit Foley, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction, stated that Saginaw Middle School will serve grades 6 through 8, starting with a class of sixth graders in its inaugural year. Additional grades will be added in subsequent school years as the program develops.
Phase one focuses on expanding classrooms and making minor upgrades to the auditorium, alongside a revamped curriculum for students. The second phase will involve significant renovations to the gymnasium, further enhancements to the auditorium, and improvements to the media center. A dedicated STEM wing will also be added during this phase.
