A new electronic system called RAPTOR will be part of  big security improvements for buildings in the Saginaw school district beginning this fall.

Superintendent Ramont Roberts says RAPTOR can alert administrators much more quickly to
potential threats by linking visitors’ names to lists like the sex offenders’ registry.  Roberts added school districts like Saginaw and Bay City utilized State Police grant money to acquire RAPTOR.

The school board reviewed RAPTOR during a presentation at its Committee of the Whole meeting Thursday.
