Saginaw’s SVRC Marketplace Celebrates 1st Anniversary
Saginaw’s SVRC Marketplace celebrates its first anniversary Saturday, June 22. The 100,000 square foot facility is housed in the former Saginaw News building in downtown Saginaw, developed in partnership with the Downtown Saginaw Farmers Market, the City of Saginaw, and the Saginaw Downtown Development Authority. A variety of vendors have provided work to nearly 50 employees and welcomed more than 50,000 visitors in the first 12 months of operation.
The marketplace is open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the celebration continues at the outdoor pavillion with food, refreshments, live music and family activities from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The SVRC Marketplace is a mixed-use facility supporting a seasonal/outdoor farmers’ market, mini retail businesses, business-incubators, Conference Center, Children’s Trauma Assessment Center, cooler rental space, offices and retail spaces.
