St. Charles Man Sentenced in 2018 Kidnapping, Assault

A man with a lengthy criminal record will spend the rest of his life in prison for a December 2018 kidnapping and assault.

44-year-old Jason Cox hid in the back seat of a woman’s car while she was paying for gas in St. Charles. When she returned to the vehicle, he kidnapped her at knife point and had her drive to a remote location where he assaulted her. The woman was able to escape and call for help.

Cox was sentenced in Saginaw County Monday, July 8 to 75-115 years in prison. He was convicted in May on several counts, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct, carjacking, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
