Standoff Situation in Midland County Has Ended

A police standoff began shortly before 4:00 p.m., Friday, in the city of Coleman in Midland County. State Police at the Tri-City Post said a trooper went to a home to followup on an investigation when a person threatened him with a knife. The person went back inside, and a heavy police presence was in the area.
Saginaw Road between 7th and Mary Streets was blocked off. People were being asked to avoid the area.
The stand-off ended around 8:30 and roads reopened. State Police say no one is in custody. The matter remains under investigation.
