State Attorney General Threatens Bay City Company With Lawsuit
The Michigan Attorney General has issued a Notice of Intended Action against Bay City based Outdoor Adventures, outlining concerns with what’s described as the company’s aggressive and
misleading sales tactics.
Attorney General Dana Nessel says nearly 30 complaints have been registered since 2016, including 10 just since January. Issues include confusion or misunderstanding about legal rights, obligations or remedies to transactions plus credit terms and conditions. Outdoor Adventures
is also accused of failing to promptly restore deposits or other payments.
Nessel says Outdoor Adventures can avoid legal action by agreeing to voluntary compliance, addressing all concerns and agreeing on a mechanism to ensure appropriate reimbursements.
Outdoor Adventures operates eight Michigan campgrounds plus a 9th in Ohio.
