Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared a state of emergency in Tuscola County.

The county has experienced damaged roads from heavy rains and flooded riverbanks, resulting in more than $4 million in damages and 80 road closures since the weekend of May 24. The declaration makes all state resources available in cooperation with local response and recovery efforts, authorizing the state police Emergency Management and Homeland Division too coordinate state efforts with local agencies.

The county declared a local state of emergency Tuesday, May 28 and requested state assistance the following day.
