A domestic violence call in Tuscola County’s Millington Township Thursday led to a dramatic standoff with police.

Officers with the Vassar Police Department responded to the call in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving in the 8000 block of Irish Road. Police say when officers arrived on the scene, a suspect inside the home opened fire on them. Police retreated and called for assistance. Several state police units responded, including K-9s, the Avaiation unit and the Emergency Support Team. Police deployed flash bang devices which caused the suspect to exit the building. He was arrested without further incident.

The suspect is facing several felony charges but has not been named pending arraignment.
