Blowing snow and freezing temperatures didn’t deter men and women who have served in the U. S. Armed Forces from a Veteran’s Day service in Saginaw’s Hoyt Park Monday, November 11.

Once known as Armistice Day, the original holiday was observed in remembrance of the 11th hour of the 11 day of the 11th month of 1918, marking the end of World War I. Since that time, it has come to be a celebration of all veterans, regardless of where or when they served.

The Saginaw celebration was one of many across the Great Lakes Bay Region, Michigan and the United States.
